My Approach
At Ms. Becca's Place, the whole child is nurtured in my neuro-affirming, smoke-free, pet-free and peanut-free environment. The children are constantly identifying and assessing their emotions. They are learning to calm themselves and to get along with others. Social skills are a major focus here at
Ms. Becca's Place.
Academics are also important. Every child works at his/her own level. Lots of reading, singing and conversation help children develop skills they need to become good readers and writers. Playing outside in our large, fenced-in backyard and building our gross motor skills are essential parts of our day.
Hours of Operation
Ms. Becca's Place is open Monday-Thursday from 9 am- 1 pm during the school year. We follow the Olathe School District's calendar for seasonal breaks and snow days.
Parents can enroll their children at Ms. Becca's Place 2, 3 or 4 days a week.
**I participate in the CACFP, and healthy lunches are provided each day.**
*Private pay and DCF payment accepted.*
Our Day
We use a variety of programs to enhance our learning experience here at Ms. Becca's Place. They include:
Conscious Discipline We learn to identify emotions, work through big feelings and self-regulate.
Sing. Play. Love. We practice social skills through song and movement.
Heggerty We work on phonemic awareness (the ability to hear and manipulate individual speech sounds). It is a necessary foundation for reading.
Handwriting without Tears We use multisensory tools and hands-on materials to learn how to write letters and numbers.
Brightwheel app is used for daily communication and payment
